Getting to know me ...

I am a 5th generation resident of Kelowna – born here and have lived here almost my whole life.  I am proud to say that my kids and grandkids make it 7th generation born in Kelowna! 

I started my career over 30 years ago when I took an income tax preparation course and had no idea at the time it would lead me to where I am today.  I worked for Canada’s #1 tax preparation company for 20 years as a tax preparer, bookkeeper, office supervisor and worked my way up to Manager of all Kelowna and West Kelowna offices.  During this time, I taught all levels of the income tax course to both the public as well as my co-workers.  To advance my knowledge I took advanced courses and tax updates each year.  When I left the company in 2008 my designation was a Master Tax Specialist preparing all levels and complexities of personal tax returns, trust returns as well as corporate tax returns. 

To advance my career I left and was hired by a CPA firm where I was Manager of the tax department and also continued my work as a bookkeeper, payroll technician and learned to prepare compilation engagements.   

Over the last 15 years I have worked to build and upgrade my skills in all areas of income tax preparation, personal and business tax consulting, bookkeeping, payroll and compilation engagements.    

My level of experience in bookkeeping is at an advanced stage with 20+ years of experience.  I prepare full cycle bookkeeping for a wide variety of clients whether they are a small business with no employees or large companies numerous employees.  I prepare payroll for my clients based on their needs and prepare monthly remittances for them.  Along with bookkeeping I also prepare and file GST, PST as well as WCB reports. 

I also prepare and file other government required forms and schedules including (but not limited to) T4 slips and summaries, T5 slips and summaries, T5018 statement of contract payments etc. 

No job is too big or too small and after 30+ years in the industry I still love what I do! 

I enjoy helping my clients; working with them to tax plan on a personal and / or business level, helping them get caught up in filings when they are behind and being proactive instead of reactive. 

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, cooking, gardening, playing the piano, reading and going for walks along the beach (preferably in Tofino!).
